07.12.26 | Edible Art Spread
I tried my hand at a bit of edible art for a garden-themed potluck.
Truth be told, I was tired enough to justify an extended afternoon nap, which left me with less prep time than I'd planned. As a result, this first attempt leaned a little more minimalist than originally envisioned—but I'm not mad about it.
Not pictured are the sliced cucumbers, extra strawberries, and bowl of dip that completed the spread. The "canvas" is a layer of dip made with cream cheese, dill, lime juice, honey, and a touch of sugar, spread onto an actual canvas wrapped in plastic wrap. The floral design is made from fresh strawberries, dill, and mint.
I plan to give this edible art another go—preferably after a full night's sleep.
