Writing Projects

  • This project narrates the experience and impact of a broken relationship between a person and a church by allegorizing the relationship as one between two people. The poems included in the project explore issues of faith, identity, church culture, and race in America. Central themes include faith, forgiveness, and hope.

  • A poetry & prose reflection on my first three years of teaching, including stories from the classroom, observations of campus culture, and a personal story of what I might rightly refer to as survival.

  • A collection of place poems that map and reroute memories of the places I’ve lived, including New York, Oklahoma, Illinois, Louisiana, Georgia, and Texas.
